PERANTIM co-organized a seminar with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), in conjunction with a Seminar titled “Global Prospects and Regulatory Updates for the Medical Devices Industry”. The objective of the launch is to introduce PERANTIM to companies registered under MATRADE – part of our recruitment drive initiative. In addition to this, MATRADE and Medical Device Authority (MDA) both provided information and updates regarding global market demand for medical devices, and regulatory changes and updates on the domestic sector. The event was attended and graced by YB Dr. Ong Kian Ming, Deputy Minister of International Trade & Industry and Pn. Sharimahton Mat Salleh, Deputy CEO of MATRADE. YB Dr Ong Kian Ming launched the association of the event, where he was then ushered to the “mini hospital ward” area to see the type of medical furniture and medical consumables in which PERANTIM members currently manufacture. Most of the companies exhibiting mini ward are already exporting, and some have attained CE Marking or USFDA certifications.
